17. Scholarships for talented children in need
Our club awarded scholarship to Elena Ilinskaya, 9 years old,
which enabled her to study at the Central Musical School of the State Conservatory. Before
the scholarship, Elena, who has no father, played for living in metro stations and railway
stations in Moscow.

16. Orphanage in Tula
Our club received Grand from Rotary Foundation and supplied school
busses for orphanage in Tula.

15. Wheelchairs for children in Kalmykia
Our club paid for 6 wheelchairs for children in Elista, Kalmykia.

14. Medical aid to Diana Medvedeva (St. Petersburg)
Complicated operation in Germany was necessary to allow Dina
Medvedeva (12 years old) to walk again on her feet. Our club provided part of the funds
needed for the operation. The operation was successful and Dina Medvedeva can walk again.

13. Boarding school in Skhodnya (10 km from Moscow)
Our club donated computer class and paid 2 computer teachers in
2003. Also sport inventory was bought by our club for the children of this
boarding-school, many of which are orphans, including ski and winter sports equipment.

12. Medical aid to Mr. Balashov (Moscow)
Our club paid for medical treatment of Mr. Balashov, 26 years old,
which had Hopkins disease (a form of cancer). The treatment in 2003 provided to be
successful.

11. Aid to orphanage of HIV-infected children in St.
Petersburg
Our club has provided funds for medical aid to this orphanage
under patronage of the wife of the Italian Ambassador.

10. Orphanage for small children in Fryasino (20 km from
Moscow)
Our club has donated medical equipment and medicaments to this
orphanage for children up to 6 years old, most of them with severe health problems. Funds
to support this orphanage were raised by our club at the fundraising event in the
Residence of the Ambassador of Italy.

9. Computers for Orphanages
Our Club is collecting used computers from companies based in
Moscow and will donate them to State orphanages. On the basis of the computers available,
our Club will commit funds to provide special training packages in computing.

8. Ambassadorial Scholars
Our Club is gladly sponsoring three ambassadorial scholars
from Japan who are studying in Moscow.

7. Ryazan Prison
In co-operation with the Rotary Club of Thomasville, NC, US,
our Club is co-sponsoring this project which will supply a turn-key school for sewing to
the under-aged inmates of the Prison for Girls of Ryazan. The Rotary Foundation has
approved a Matching Grant for this project.
29 industrial sewing machines and 11 computers were delivered by our club
in this prison for girls aged 14 to 18 and put into operation in 2003. The girls are
getting professional education with the help of this donation.
